We will also provide tips on how you can ensure that all necessary repairs are completed as soon as possible after a storm passes through the area.
Common Types of Storm Damage in Sugar Land.
Sugar Land, located in the greater Houston area, is prone to summer storms and other weather-related damage. Some of the most common types of storm damage that Sugar Land homeowners may encounter include:
Wind Damage – High winds can cause trees to fall on roofs or homes, or shingles or siding to blow off the house. Sometimes, wind damage can even cause structural damages to walls or roofs.
Hail Damage – In addition to damaging shingles and siding, hail can also impact roofing materials like metal sheets or tiles, windows and skylights, air conditioning units, gutters, and more.
Flood Damage – Sugar Land is no stranger to flooding, and homeowners can suffer from water damage inside their homes as a result. Even if the floodwaters don’t reach into your home, moisture in the air or ground can still cause damage to walls and ceilings.
Ice Damage – Heavy snowfall or ice storms can also cause problems for homeowners, such as roof collapses. Ice can also cause damage to gutters and downspouts, resulting in water damage over time.
If you’re a Sugar Land homeowner who’s been affected by storm damage of any kind, it is important to act quickly and get the repairs done as soon as possible. By doing this, you can protect your home from further damage and ensure the safety of you and your family. In addition, procrastinating repairs can lead to more expensive repair costs in the future.
The Importance of Prompt Storm Damage Repair in Sugar Land
When it comes to protecting your home from storm damage, prompt repair is critical. Aside from the obvious risk of further damage that can result from leaving a damaged property unattended, repairing storm damage immediately can also help you save money and keep your family safe.
In cases of serious weather events such as hurricanes or floods, your property can suffer severe damage. Not only are there risks of structural problems such as flooding and weakened foundations, but there is also the risk of contamination from debris and dirt entering your home.
If left untreated, this contamination can lead to mold growth which can cause serious health problems if not addressed in a timely manner. During storms, high winds can also cause roof damage and make your home vulnerable to intruders.
By investing in prompt storm damage repair in Sugar Land, you can avoid or minimize the possibility of additional damage and ensure that major problems are kept to a minimum. Prompt repair will also help keep your family safe from dangerous contaminants, as well as decrease the chances of having to pay for costly repairs down the line.
Signs of Storm Damage to Look Out For
When a storm passes through the Sugar Land area, it’s important to check in on your property for any signs of damage that may have occurred. Storms can cause significant damage to homes and other structures, which is why prompt repair and maintenance are so important.
It’s best to look for both visible and non-visible damage after a storm has passed. The most common visible signs of storm damage are broken or missing shingles on the roof and siding, as well as water stains around windows, doors, and other openings in your home’s exterior.
In addition to these more obvious signs of damage, there may also be non-visible signs of storm damage. These include issues such as water leakage in your attic or a weak structural foundation caused by intense flooding. Over time, these problems can become more severe and costly to repair if they are left unattended.

Here are a few steps homeowners should take for prompt storm damage repair in Sugar Land: First, make sure to assess the damage as quickly and thoroughly as possible. If you are a building owner or commercial property manager, you know that having a good roof is imperative. A strong, well-maintained roof protects your property from the elements and can help you save money on energy costs. There are many different types of commercial roofing systems, and it can be difficult to decide which is right for your building.
In this blog post, we will discuss the top five most common commercial roofing types.
What to consider when choosing one of the top five most common commercial roofing types.
When choosing a commercial roofing system, you must first consider the climate in which your building is located. If you live in an area with extreme weather conditions, you will need a roof that can withstand high winds and heavy rain, hail, and snow.
In addition, you must also consider the type of building you have. If you have a flat roof, you will need a different roofing system than if you have a pitched roof.
Once you have considered the climate and the type of building you have, you can start to compare different commercial roofing systems. Some of the most popular options include metal roofs, modify bitumen and rubber roofs.
Metal roofs are very strong and durable, but they can be quite expensive. Modify Bitumen roofs are less expensive than metal roofs, but they are not as durable. Rubber roofs are a good middle-ground option, as they are more durable than bitumen but not as expensive as metal roofs.
When choosing a commercial roofing system, it is important to consult with a roofing expert. They will be able to help you choose the best roof for your building and climate. They can also help you install the roof, which is important to ensure that it will last for many years.
1. Modified Bitumen
Modified bitumen is the most popular type of commercial roofing. It’s made up of a rubber-like material that’s been heated and then applied to a substrate.
The modified bitumen roofing system is thought of as the evolutionary cousin of the built-up roofing system (BUR) that has been used on low-slope roofs for more than 100 years.
A rugged-yet-flexible waterproof membrane is created by combining asphalt with polymerized rubber or plastic, then reinforcing it with fiberglass.
Modified bitumen roofing is used mostly on commercial roofs that are either flat or have a low slope. These membranes may be installed as part of a two-layer system or a multi-ply system, depending on the type and material.
This type of roofing is very durable and can last up to 20 years, making it number one in the list of the top five most common commercial roofing types.
2. Metal Roofing
Metal roofing is another popular choice for commercial buildings. It’s exceptionally durable, and the lifespan of durable metal roofing is 40 to 60 years, making it a very popular commercial roof type.
Some common metal roofing materials for commercial buildings include corrugated galvanized steel, aluminum, zinc, tin, tile sheets, copper, and coated or stainless steel.
Metal roofing can have an attractive, finished look, and strong fire resistance ratings and are stronger and more sustainable than many other options.
The downside to metal is that it is susceptible to corrosion. Modern metal roofs have protective surface layers added to manage damage from exposure, moisture, pollution, and other environmental factors because of this issue. It’s also resistant to fire and wind damage.
3. PVC Roofing
PVC roofing is a type of roofing that’s made from plastic. It’s very durable and can last for up to 30 years. It’s also resistant to fire and wind damage.
Thermoplastic Polyolefin (TPO) and Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC). These types of roof membranes are slow to damage from UV light, chemicals including fats and oils, or bacterial growth.
They are lightweight and puncture resistant and have a heat-reflective surface. Other benefits of PTFE-coated fabric include strong air-welded seams, fire resistance, and tolerance to both high temperatures and high winds.
Cheap, poorly made products can be a downside. Many small manufacturers have tried to create their own product lines since TPO has become so popular, but this has caused the quality to slip through the cracks. You should only purchase this type of product from a reputable manufacturer.
4. Spray on Roofing
Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) is a material that begins as a liquid spray and instantly expands into a foam, hardening into a solid layer.
Although not well-known, this particular eco-friendly roofing has been around since the early 1960s and is applied on top of an existing roof.
An SPF roofing system waterproofs your roof and adds an insulating factor. When installed and maintained properly, this product can withstand any climate and last up to 50 years.
5. Thermoset EPDM Roof Membrane
Thermoset EPDM roof membranes are made from rubber and plastic materials and can last for up to 30 years.
EPDM is a durable synthetic rubber roofing membrane that is roll-based. An EPDM roof system, also known as Thermoset roofing, offers strong resistance to sunlight and pollution. It is a long-lasting, versatile, and easy-to-install product.
EPDM comes in white and black rolls. In addition to sun and pollution resistance, this single-ply rubber is durable in the face of many common solvents like alcohol or acids.
One downside to EDPM roofing is that it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing option available, and it can be punctured more easily than other types of roofing (for example, if there is falling debris or people walking on the roof).
Choosing one of the top five most common commercial roofing types
The longevity of the roof and its annual maintenance cost among other things such as energy costs of the various types and colors of roofing materials should be considered.
A dark-colored roof may reduce a cold weather climate’s heating bill, while a white roof may limit a warm climate office’s strain on their air conditioner.
We’ve installed millions of square feet of commercial roofing and have three generations of experience working with all kinds of roofing materials – something we’re very proud of!
Our experts can walk you through all types of commercial installations. We know all about roofs, including EPDM, PVC, built-up coal tar, modified bitumen, and metal roofs.
The three most important factors that we always address are finding the right roof for your budget, delivering quality work that lasts, and installing the most appropriate roof system for your structure.
The process of roof replacement involves tearing off the old roof. Roofing experts will completely remove the old roofing material and install a new one.
This way, the roof decking is protected by the new shingles. A repair such as this one is effective for any type of damaged roof, and it can be completed on an existing roof or a new installation.
Whether you’re looking to repair your roof or replace it entirely, there are a few things you should consider.
Roof Replacement Steps and Tips to Follow Before it Begins.
The first step in the process of roof replacement is to get the roofing materials delivered to your home. Once the materials are delivered, your local roofing contractor will arrive and begin the work.
Make sure that the materials are stacked neatly and positioned in the driveway. It will take at least one day to complete the entire project, but larger projects can require more than one day.
When your roofing contractor is ready to start the installation, it’s important they follow the roof replacement steps and tips mentioned here.
Consult with your neighbors before you start the work. Let them know about your roof replacement and that will possibly cause disruption in their lives.
It is always helpful to warn your neighbors of the potential risk of flying shingles into their yards.
Ask your neighbors to protect their belongings in case some of the roofers accidentally drop something on their property. In addition, you might want to cover flower beds and board up windows located nearby.
During the installation, you need to make sure to check the chimney’s flashing. In order to properly install your chimney, you need to have step flashing, counter flashing, and cricket flashing.
Make sure that your vent boots are in good condition. Also, check the valley flashing, as this takes a lot of abuse and should not have any cracks or tears. In addition, you’ll need to replace your underlayment.
Check the existing shingles. If the shingles on your roof are uneven, and you can’t flatten them you’ll need to reapply a new shingle, which should be applied to the interior of the house.
Quality roofing materials are essential for a building. This will prevent damage from falling objects, and it is also a great way to protect your home from the elements.
New roofs should last for many years. If your roof has become damaged recently, you should replace it as soon as possible. Installing a new roof will make your home look brand new again.
Roof coating in Houston is a popular way to maximize your roof’s lifespan and function, which are the best? The polymer-based coatings offer a host of benefits to people looking for a long-term solution for their fading roof. For example, an asphalt roof coating is an excellent way to keep the building cool in hot weather and save money on your hefty energy bills.
However, if you choose silver coating for your roof, it covers the surface and adds to its strength and durability. Moreover, it doesn’t look metallic at all. An aluminum coating is another suitable option that looks more like paint, creating a subtle and unique effect.
Besides this, you can also use polyurea, granules, and acrylic for roof coatings in Houston. All these roof coatings benefit your commercial building roofing by reducing fungal growth and keeping your roof material safe from algae.
These coatings are self-priming, so they have become a popular choice for roofs. If you’re considering this option, keep reading to learn more about roof coatings in Houston.

Roof coatings are an easy way to add a protection layer to the roof surface and shield it against water, light, and other elements. Houston roof coatings have also become a standard solution to prevent the roofs from corrosion, cracks, and other structural damage while delaying roof replacement.
However, ensure that you work with credible and qualified roofing coatings contractors such as Trinity Roofing and Restoration to get the job done. Only the leading roofing coating service can offer you the best commercial roofing in Houston.

Best Commercial Roof Coatings in Houston You Can Choose
Polyurea
Polyurea roofing coating is made of an elastomer substance primarily derived from polymerization. It combines isocyanate and synthetic resin. The roof coating offers unique benefits that set it apart from other protective coatings.
Polyurea comes in many forms and types, similar to acrylic and urethane coatings. This is one of the most sought-after roof coatings in Houston for its brilliant structural enhancement, abrasion, waterproofing, and corrosion protection.
The roof coating is typical on single-ply roofs, metal roofs, modified bitumen, foam, and built-up roofs.
Asphalt
Asphalt is a standard material for roof coating, and there are several good reasons for this. Some asphalt coatings are relatively fire-resistant, reasonable to purchase and install and come in many colors. In fact, when you compare shingle coating to metal, it costs less.
The coating uses a solvent that makes it easier and thinner to apply. It doesn’t need any heavy equipment. Experienced roof coatings contractors can spray or brush it on the roof. The coating works best for membrane, metal, and built-up roofs. It is long-lasting and a go-to variety that typically can protect the roof for five years.
Acrylic
Also called elastomeric coatings, Acrylic roof is not only highly reflective but also a great option to prevent corrosion. Plexiglass is one of the standard acrylic coatings, famous for its durability, strength, and flexibility. These features make acrylic coating ideal for hard roofing surfaces such as metal. They allow the roof to contract and expand with the metal.
The coatings are also easy to apply through a spray nozzle. The application method is less labor-intensive and quicker. The coating is good at withstanding most climates in Houston and provides excellent value.
Polyurethane
Polyurethane roof coatings have exceptional impact resistance. That means the roof coating is perfect for surfaces with higher foot traffic. Though Polyurethane coatings don’t have ultraviolet stability if they are aromatic, they are relatively cost-effective to apply before another layer.
If cost isn’t an issue, you can opt for an aliphatic polyurethane roof coating that is UV stable, color-resistant, and easy to clean.
Granules
You can add granules to your existing roof coating system to enhance the roof’s resistance to abrasion and heavy impact. The roof coating type creates a non-slip surface and improves safety significantly. If you’re looking for a safer, more durable, and aesthetically appealing coating for commercial roofing, granules are the right choice. You can use the coating on single-ply roofs, modified bitumen roofs, and asphalt shingles.
Urethane
Ideal for high-traffic surfaces, a urethane roof coating is what you need for excellent durability, flexibility, and seamless application. Like acrylic, urethane also can contract and expand with the roof structure.
In addition, the roof coating can better resist heavy impact and water pooling compared to many roof coatings.
Which are the Right Roof Coatings in Houston?
If your commercial roofing needs a new coating or you’re looking for the best roof surface, choose the roofing that:
Is visible
It is easy to step on
Resists grease, chemicals, or acid
Has UV stability
Has high wind resistance
Withstands temperature extremes
Summing Up
Roof coatings in Houston come in a wide variety. However, you need to choose the best one that suits your building needs. The given roof coating types are excellent options and offer plenty of benefits to commercial roofing.

A commercial property leaking roof could turn out to be a real nightmare. It can easily disrupt business operations and affect your bottom line. In this video, Matt is going to show you what went wrong with this commercial property leaking roof in Missouri City.
Hey, what’s going on everybody, Matt #dadbodbod on your roof with Trinity Roofing and Restoration out here in Missouri City this time.
Roof #4 for the day, Cuatro!
So, can anybody tell me what’s wrong with this roof? they don’t know why it’s leaking they don’t have a clue! Actually, they have a clue they know why is leaking, the roof is messed up, right?
Why is This Commercial Property Roof Leaking?
They hired somebody, last time I told him what was wrong… to do this! which is fine, solved some of the problems. The problem was, that they put too much of it on one side after there were already ripples there. There was already moisture inside there was already off-gassing which caused more ripples. Causing in this case, the modified Bitumen to come off the roof decking, there were no caps or there was no base sheet on this.
I don’t, I mean obviously, they use a primer or something on here ’cause it’s pretty nasty looking.
But essentially, what happened was the water started penetrating into here and pulled off the membrane when it got too heavy and now every time, they have a wind-driven rain they’ve got the water going right inside there.
You can see all the leaves, you can see all the debris, you can see the nastiness in there. This is on commercial property in Missouri City so it needs to be maintained, not like a house doesn’t but this one affects the business it can get people sick and there’s water coming in all over the place.
You know the other thing about this one is whoever they have does not I hate talking bad about other people but maybe they just don’t know right?
These fasteners are still resting. They hit the seam and didn’t hit the fasteners, but whatever the stuff is they’re using is not sealing all the way. It is still cracking it is not lasting very long.
So we’re going to write up another proposal for them to see if they will take our advice this time and get it dry in, so these people can run their business and not be affected.
Do you own or manage a commercial property in Missouri City?
If you got a commercial property or you are managing one, you’re looking to buy one, or you’re looking to buy a house or got a house, you’ve got any leaks… we do inspections, we do replacements, we do repairs we do coatings, you name it, we’ll handle it!
We’ll make it right and yeah, we’ll make sure you’re satisfied that’s what we do, right? make sure our customers are dry, make sure our customers are happy, and make sure everybody is satisfied at the end of the day so we can all go home and sleep at night not worrying about what’s going to be dripping on our heads if there’s rainstorm in the middle of the night.
I hope you guys again are having a great Saturday, it’s already 12:30 and I’m only on #4 out of like 11 so I need to pick up the pace and get to the next one.
So maybe I won’t do a video at all the rest of the day today but we’ll see how that goes. Anyway, I think we found the leak! and so we’re going to move on to the next one. Y’all have a fantastic Saturday hit me up if you need something y’all be good.
Matt #dadbod on your Roof, Trinity Roofing and Restoration see you!
If you have been putting off getting a new roof, consider a roof coating instead.
Not only will a roof coating save you money and increase the value of your building, but the process will be quick and relatively noiseless. Unlike tearing off your old roofing system and installing a new one, a roof coating service will take just a day or two. Depending on the size of your roof, this process will only require a few hours of your time, not a whole day. The best part is that a roof coating is environmentally friendly and does not produce any volatile organic compounds, or VOCs.
Cool commercial roofingoffer several benefits to buildings. However, they are not appropriate for all roofs. In places with colder climates, the cool roof will increase your electricity bill. It can be a great way to offset the heat emitted by the sun in the winter months. Moreover, a cool roof can reduce heating costs by as much as 10 to 30 percent. A cool roof, also known as a reflective roof, is applied as liquid paint.
Many people do not realize it, but a roof coating can cause problems with its adhesion and sizing. The first step in applying a coating is applying a primer to the roof. This allows the coating to adhere better to the roof surface. A few layers of the coating may be required to make a complete project. The thickness of the coating will depend on its ingredients and the climate of the area in which it is installed.
You may need to call a roofing contractor if you notice any problems with the coating application process.
Type of Roof Coatings Available.
Several types of roof coatings are available in spray and these coatings are designed to prevent leaks and keep the roof dry for up to 15 years. Tropical roof products have one of the most popular and affordable options for roof coating, as they can last up to 20 years with one application. This is a great option for homes or businesses with a lot of foot traffic and needs to protect their roof. If you want a new roof, don’t put off getting a roof coating!
Another type of roof coating is made of silicone. This material is environmentally friendly and is made from a high solids dispersion of 100 percent silicone. This type of coating provides a superior level of protection against ultraviolet light and ponding water. In addition, it is highly reflective, making it a great option for homes and businesses.
When a roof coating is applied correctly, it will resist oxidation and aging, and make the maintenance of the roof an easy and painless process.
Another benefit is that it can extend the life of a roof. It can prevent leaks, reduce energy costs and provide high-quality UV protection. Additionally, it is environmentally friendly, reducing the need for air conditioning.
In addition to its environmental benefits, roof coatings help you reduce your carbon footprint, as they are highly reflective and can reduce energy bills. And because they are environmentally friendly, a roof coating will also save the environment by protecting the environment.

Hurricanes are a deadly force that can rip your house apart in no time. They can do incredible amounts of damage to your roof, leading to potential water damage and other more serious issues.
In this article, we have put together eight Top Tips for a Hurricane-Proof Roof, there are some simple steps that you should take in order to help your roof withstand the storm.
What are the best ways to make your roof hurricane-proof?
Choose the Slope and Shape of Your Roof Wisely
The shape and slope of your roof are important determining factors in how well your roof will fare against a hurricane. You’ll want to choose something that can withstand the extreme winds you’ll face during a hurricane. The slopes should allow the wind to go up and around the roof instead of prying the roof off.
Your roof should have at least four sloped edges to keep it hurricane-proof. However, the best hurricane-proof roof is hexagon or octagon-shaped; these can withstand the wind better than homes with only a few panels.
Consider the Material of Your Roof
The material your roof is made from is just as important as the shape of your roof. If your area is prone to strong windstorms and hurricanes, then you may want to consider metal roofing for your home.
Metal roofs are some of the best types of roofs for withstanding hurricanes. Their paneling is secure, and if installed properly, is almost entirely waterproof. They are also so secure that they are unlikely to be blown off by heavy winds.
Regular Maintenance for a Hurricane-Proof Roof
No matter how high quality your roof is, you should still take the time to perform regular maintenance measures to ensure it is structurally sound. You should call a professional at least once a year to perform maintenance. That way, if your roof has sustained any damage that you were unaware of, it can be taken care of before a hurricane or a storm hits.
You can do regular maintenance yourself by inspecting your roof after heavy storms as well. If you notice that your roof is damaged, call your local roofer right away.
Hurricane Straps
Even with all of your prep work, there’s still a chance that your home could be at risk. Hurricane straps are a great way to secure your roof and your home’s foundation during a hurricane. There are various different types of hurricane straps that are installed in unique ways.

Secure any loose shingles you find before the storm hits. That way, you’ll be less likely to experience damage.

You should also inspect for mold or water damage. These areas are more likely to give way during a hurricane, which could lead to further damage during the storm.
Keep Your Yard Clean
While the condition of your roof is important, you should also keep your yard clean of anything that could cause damage. Make sure to trim any large branches from around your home; they could easily fall onto your roof and deal some serious damage.
If a storm is headed your way, you should also pick up any loose debris around your yard that could damage your roof. Even if your roof is fine on its own, any number of projectiles could damage it during the store.
